Hello, argonauts!
I am back with the second clue for The Weekly Whoop #4!
It builds on the foundation laid by the first clue with more addenda and clarifications. I have thrown in another helpful riddle for good measure.
But first, let’s recap the crossword.
The Crossword
Addenda and Clarifications
Let’s get right to it:
11 Across: “No man is an ______”
13 Across: a spy who was otherwise famous; a legendary ship; a movie that was made and a movie that wasn’t
3 Down is the name of a specific asteroid
10 Down is a nickname
A Helpful Riddle
Do you know the counting-out rhyme Tinker, Tailor?
Tinker, Tailor,
Soldier, Sailor,
Rich Man, Poor Man,
Beggar Man, Thief.
Let me give you a variation on that, one that I created.
Tippler, Traveler,
Stringer, Sailor,
Fighting Man, Fishing Man,
News Man, Brief.
Its intended target is the same as that of the key:
And so riddled the son his papa:
His papa’s son was papa, papa.
His papa’s son was a rollin’ stone.
His sons’ papa drank papa papa.
His sons’ papa was a rollin’ stone.
All the answers to the crossword can be traced back to who or what this intended target is.
(It’s a ‘who,’ okay! You know it, I know it, let’s be done with the ‘what’ charade.)
The Across and Down prompts might not always trace back because I have to sneak in a few things you can answer without cracking the key.
For example, 6 Across’s prompt does not connect to the key’s target, but the answer to the prompt does.
Parting Shots
Please remember,
There are clues everywhere. Look under every rock and at every nook and cranny.1
When you think of the key and the quest in these hunts, think of them as verification tools for each other. It is better to solve the two concurrently.2
Regarding the second clue, this is all she wrote (or did she).
I hope you will find it helpful. As you get on with your business and I get down to writing the third and final clue, let me leave you with a short story.
He died trying to live.
Think about that for a moment. DM me for clarifications and shooting the shit.

Okay, that’s too exhaustive (and exhausting). I mean that elements like subtitles, image captions, and seemingly random references should become attractive to you right about now.
E.g., Does the riddle fit the crossword’s answers (and vice versa)?
